A friend and I went to the Kalona Village Museum today. They had a display of quilts made by Thuy Nguyen. She came to this country from Viet Nam in the 1970s. She made these exquisite quilts after moving to Iowa. They are hand appliqued and hand quilted. Absolutely stunning!
I'm afraid the pictures don't really do them justice. The tiny stitching, quilting and embroidery are amazing!
On our way back into town we stopped at JoAnn Fabrics. I got a new Ott Light. I knocked over the lamp that I always use, when I knit in the 4 season room, and it broke. Saw this and I hope its as good as my Ott lamps in my sewing room. Took 5 minutes to put together!
